Kolkata’s Jayasree Press opts for Ricoh 8300S
Srikanta Basak of Jayasree Press with the new machine
Kolkata-based Jayasree Press invested in a Ricoh Pro 8300S monochrome digital printing press in April. The machine was supplied and installed by Monotech Systems.
Involved in books and commercial print production, Jayasree Press has both offset and digital printing technologies in its production facility.
Srikanta Basak of Jayasree Press said, since the installation of the Ricoh Pro 8300 in April, the company has already printed more than five lakh of A3 black & white sheets on the press. “We like the printing quality and sturdiness of the press,” he said.
Basak is a part of a family-owned printing business started by his father, the late Radhagobinda Basak in undivided Bangladesh. After the Partition, his father shifted the business to West Bengal.
In 1986, the business divided, and Basak became the sole proprietor of Jayasree Press at the age of about 32.
Today, the company has one offset double Demy Printing Machine (HMT), four desktops, HP laser printers, and digital printing presses from Ricoh and Xerox.
The key persons are Mahasin Alam, head of computer department; Sourav Ghosh, digital machine operator; Biswajit Samanta, manager and Panchanan Jana, offset operator.
“I do my best to overcome the rising demand with our hard labour. I purchased the Ricoh press due to its better printing quality, lower cost, and superior after-sales services from Monotech Systems,” Basak said.
